A pipeline of investigators who lead projects independently
This programme is designed for biomedical and social sciences graduates or post graduates interested in building a career in research. It focuses on developing a pipeline of investigators capable of leading projects independently.
Each young investigator (YI) in the programme follows a tailored development plan guided by mentors. The programme includes acquisition of specific knowledge, skill sets, and competence in research management and leadership with well-defined time bound targets.
Structured and comprehensive PRERNA YI programme
Learning from the experiences of PRERNA 1.0 and PRERNA 2.0, a structured training programme in research methodology has been created for PRERNA 3.0. Cross site mentorship for the young investigators will be offered depending upon their area of interest, enabling them to get an opportunity to choose mentors from collaborating institutes for their proposed work apart from their primary mentors within the partner institutes. The young investigators will get required support from Steering Committee and TAG members to reach out to institutes beyond this network for any training or research opportunities.

Who
Medical postgraduates or postgraduates from biomedical disciplines / health sciences willing to work in global and public health research.
How
Hired as full-time researchers, each following a tailored development plan guided by mentors.
Deliverables
Research proposals, at least one competitive grant, secondary data analysis, systematic reviews and meta-analyses, and enrolment in a doctoral programme.
